❓ Pyramid Solitaire FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the goal of Pyramid Solitaire?
The goal is to remove all 28 cards from the pyramid by pairing cards that sum to 13. Kings (value 13) are removed automatically without pairing.
How do I pair cards?
Click on two uncovered cards whose values add up to 13. Both cards will be removed from the pyramid. Remember: only uncovered cards (with no cards below) can be paired.
What card values equal 13?
Common pairs: Ace (1) + Queen (12), 2 + Jack (11), 3 + 10, 4 + 9, 5 + 8, 6 + 7. Kings (13) remove automatically without a partner.
What is the Egypt Pyramid variant?
In standard Pyramid Solitaire, you can only cycle through the stock pile once. Egypt Pyramid allows unlimited passes through the deck, giving you more chances to find matching pairs.
Can I use the stock pile multiple times?
In our Egypt Pyramid variant: yes! You have unlimited deck passes. In standard rules, you only get one pass through the stock.
What happens if I run out of moves?
If you've exhausted all possible pairs in the pyramid and cycled through the stock pile without finding matches, the game is lost. Try again with a new deal.
Is there a time limit?
No — take your time to plan your moves. Pyramid Solitaire rewards careful strategy, not speed.
How is scoring calculated?
Each pair removed scores points. Clearing the entire pyramid awards a bonus. Higher scores come from clearing the pyramid with fewer total moves.
Can I undo a move?
Check if the game has an undo button. Some versions allow unlimited undos, which is great for learning optimal strategies.
Why can't I click on a card?
The card may be covered by cards below it. Only uncovered cards can be selected. Clear cards from the bottom row upward to expose more cards.
